Between 6:30 and 7:00 PM on January 7, 2008, a tornado dropped out of the sky very near Don and Jan's home. It first hit the 44 X 72 barn which was built to house the Light for the Lost bus(kitchen) and smoker trailer. The barn was completely destroyed. It then hit Jan's mother, Rachel Lawson's home. Her home was completely destroyed and she suffered a head injury and died at 10:00 PM at the hospital. The storm then headed northeast for many miles and destroyed many homes and other barns in it's path. Don and Jan's home suffered many holes in the siding and many broken windows from flying barn debris. The storm also removed many of the shingles on their home and then subsequent storms during the night brought over 3 inches of rain. Their home was totally soaked inside during the night is is uninhabitable until it can be repaired totally inside and out. Below are many pictures of the damage done during the short time the tornado hit.
